BLIK BLIK! Light up Pilsen with us!
Thanks to a tradition that started when the city was European Capital of Culture, Pilsen is among European cities that attract visitors during the winter months to a unique experience of modern digital art in the streets. The festival called 'BLIK BLIK - a festival of light and art in the public space' builds on a huge success of 2015 and 2016 when the light installations were seen by 40,000 and 45,000 visitors respectively.
The BLIK BLIK Festival looks for interesting artists and has stepped out of the city centre by inviting to unusual experience and offering a discovery route around Lochotín among old villas and concrete blocks of flats.
The festival collaborates with other similar events in the Czech Republic and abroad, such as the SIGNAL Festival and the Slovak biennial White Night festival. It also links various parts of the Pilsen cultural scene as cultural organizations, local centres and associations prepare their own supporting programmes at various places off the main route.
Next year, the festival will take place on 17 and 18 March 2017.
