Makerspace, an open workshop, is a variable space fully equipped for creative activities, experimenting and making things. The aim of the open workshop is to offer a space for DIY, hobbies, arts and crafts and professionals who need workshop facilities and various tools they don't have at home or in their workshop. We also offer regular courses for the general public that introduce new technologies and help you master various techniques.
It is a unique concept inspired by various foreign FabLabs - small urban labs and workshops. Makerspace has a metal and woodwork workshops, a sewing shop, a screen-printing shop, a graphical shop and a FabLab with new technologies. Apart from courses, it also offers a membership allowing DIY fans and professional craftsmen and designers to use a wide range of professional tools in a shared, and therefore cheaper, way. You will be guided by experienced lecturers on your way to your own product.
You can buy a so-called hourly membership for a year for CZK 900. The price includes a mandatory health and safety training, 4 introductory lessons (8 lessons for students and seniors) where you can try out individual machines and learn how to operate them. The membership also includes services such as a cloakroom, consultations with a master and a material bank. We organize parties for members and we can arrange participation at some cultural events at the DEPO2015. With this membership you will pay CZK 50 for every hour after that at Makerspace.
