Residents will be chosen by a specialist jury by May 26th, 2015.

Residency assignment and goal:
Plzeň 2015 and Motel Spatie (Arnhem, Netherlands) in cooperation with Dutch Embassy in Prague will host Dutch artist in summer 2014. The artist will work in the former public transportation depot which is currently being turned into creative zone called DEPO2015. The artist will create a site specific artwork reflecting the genius loci of the space and its industrial architecture and the artwork will be tightly connected to the local community. This does not mean we are looking for a community art artist. We are looking for an artist who can connect to society without compromosing the art's autonomy. This is also the definition of the concept from Motel Spatie a.i.r. called  'Engaged autonomy'. With this residency period the artist will become part of the ongoing research to this concept. OPEN A.i.R. is hosting the second residency in this framework of 'Engaged Autonomy'
 
During the residency the artist will take part in at least two public events. One of the will be a workshop/artist talk/informal meeting with fellow artists and/or broad public (to be decided together with the artists) and the final presentation of his/her work at the end of the residency. The events are organized by OPEN A.i.R. team.
 
In your cover letter please indicate how you would like to fulfill the aforementioned by your artistic production. Please mention what are the topics and issues you are currently working on or you would like to target during the residency. Let us know what motivates you to come to live and work in Pilsen.

The organiser of the residency will provide:
- transport (up to €250)
- accommodation
- material and technical equipment required for the residency (up to €500)
- honorarium (€500 gross per month)
 
Accommodation for residents:
The resident will be accommodated in his/her own room in a residential flat located in the city centre. There are altogether three rooms, a shared kitchen, bathroom and toilet.
 
Technical conditions of the residency:
Other material and technical equipment needed for implementing residencies will be provided by the Pilsen 2015 organisation as per mutual agreement.
