OPEN A.i.R. – Artist in Residence Program, as a legacy programme of Pilsen – European Capital of Culture 2015 and Plants AiR (Novi Sad, Serbia) are announcing an open call for Serbian artists.
Date of residency: 23 October – 4 December 2017 (6 weeks in total)

Profile of the resident: artist living and working in Novi Sad or ‘Zone 021’ (municipalities of Irig, Beočin, and Sremski Karlovci), Serbia. We look for artists who work in the fields of visual art, design, interactive and digital installation in public space. Good command in English, both spoken and written, is necessary.
During the residency, the artist will take part in at least two public events. The first one will be a workshop / artist talk / informal meeting with fellow artists and/or broad public (to be decided together with the artists). The second one is final presentation of his/her work at the end of the residency. The outcome of the residency may be presented during the BLIK BLIK festival of light and art in public space in March 2018 and should be interactive and/or digital installation.
The organiser of the residency will provide:
- Transport (up to €250)
- Material and technical equipment required for the residency (up to €1000)
- Honorarium (€650 gross)
Applications including CV, portfolio (up to 10 selected projects) and cover letter commenting on artistic intention and describing the interactivity of the art project and relationship to the public space (all in English) should be sent no later than September 1st, 2017 to email@example.com. Residents will be chosen by a specialist jury by September 15th, 2017.
Note: In your cover letter please indicate how you would like to fulfill the aforementioned residency assignment and goal by your artistic production. Please mention how you would like to approach the topic of the residency, and the ideas you would like to target during the residency. The DEPO2015 is a lively space where culture meets with business. The main aim is to support creative industries. The DEPO2015 Creative Zone is a sustainable outcome of the Pilsen - European Capital of Culture 2015 project. At the former bus depot, you can find an open workshop called Makerspace offering a co-working space, interactive exhibitions, a café, a community garden, offices for hire, art studios, a space for artistic residencies and a hall for concerts, conferences and theatre shows.
This residency could happen thanks to the kind support of the City of Pilsen.
