NEXT STEP: CULTURE
From the Classroom to the Cultural Stage

When: May 15, 2026 / 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Where: DEPO2015 - Bus Hall
Who: Intended for 2nd- and 3rd-year high school students in arts programs and their teachers,
as well as students at arts colleges. 
How: Due to limited capacity, registration is required for this event 

High schools – teachers can register the entire class HERE.
College students – register individually HERE.
Deadline: Registration is open until May 4, 2026

The Pilsen Region and the city of Pilsen want to be more than just a place of study for young creators—they want to become an environment where a creative career can truly take off. To make this happen, we want to find out what students need and what is missing for them in the region.

This meeting is therefore primarily a space for open dialogue. The outcomes of the roundtable discussions will serve as a concrete basis for establishing informal educational programs, grant opportunities, and new infrastructure—such as startup studios or shared workshops.

13:00 - 13:45 Panel discussion with local creative professionals
•    Josef Sedlák (Akrobad) A Pilsen-based visual artist and illustrator currently focusing on freehand painting, street art, and large-scale murals. He holds a bachelor’s degree in illustration from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Pilsen. In his dynamic work, which can be seen in galleries and public spaces, he often combines motifs of the city, industry, and abstraction. 
•    Tereza Fialová and Anna Eštoková (studio t&a) Graphic designers and founders of the Pilsen-based studio t&a. Graduates of Sutnarka, they focus on comprehensive corporate visual identities, the creation of original books, and exhibitions of their own independent work. Co-authors of the winning project Femme in the Most Beautiful Czech Books of 2023 competition.

1.    My Creative Work
- What do I enjoy most about my creative work when I’m doing it just for myself?
- What stopped me the most when I wanted to start creating something of my own?
- What do I want to learn, but haven’t found anyone in the region who can teach me?
2.    My Place, My Community
- Do I have favorite places or communities in the region where I feel “at home”?
- What am I missing professionally in the region, even though it’s common in other cities?
- Do I know anyone who successfully makes a living from creative work?
3.    Why leave, and what will keep me here? 
- Do I plan to stay in the region after school, or do I want to leave? What is the main reason?
- What specifically does another city have that I’m missing here?
- Do I feel like I have people to create for and collaborate with in our region?
4.    My vision and support system (Co-creation)
- If I had unlimited possibilities, what kind of space or project would I start in the region?
- What does my “dream internship” at a company or with a creative professional look like? What should it offer me?
- What kind of support from the region would I appreciate most (funding, space, a mentor), and how do I want to find out about it?
5.    Information Channels
- Where do I look for information about inspiration or internships?
- Am I aware of support opportunities from the city, region, or other entities?
- Who should I contact if I want to complete an internship or pursue continuing education?
