Embark on a journey with your own body

What happens in your body in just one second? Your heart pumps blood, your lungs supply it with oxygen, your brain processes information, and your immune system evaluates potential threats. Most of this work in your body is done without you even noticing it.

 

On an area of approximately 480 m², you will symbolically shrink to the size of cells and particles and enter the world that you always have with you. However, you will not find a classic anatomical exhibition full of models and specialist texts. Through interactive exhibits, digital games, movement tasks and audiovisual installations, you will become a direct part of the events that take place in the human organism every second.

 

The body as you don't know it

Your expedition begins with a passage through a distinctive iris, beyond which scale and perspective change. Gradually, you will discover how the senses capture information from the world around you, how the brain processes it, and why all parts of the body must constantly work together.

 

Your own activity will get your blood pumping and help with its oxygenation. You will test your observation while hunting for harmful viruses and will walk through the food journey from the tongue through the stomach to the intestines. You will also learn how the body obtains energy, manages water and gets rid of substances it no longer needs. We will also talk about processes that are not usually talked about much - such as the formation of intestinal gas.

 

During the expedition, you will complete various tasks and store their results on a personal chip. In the final exhibit, they will be linked to your unique organism profile, which will reveal how important the interplay of all parts of the human body is.

 

Some tasks can be completed alone, while others will require the cooperation of the whole family. The INTO THE BODY exhibition thus combines learning, movement, fun and a shared experience. It offers children adventure and space to discover, adults new connections – and everyone the opportunity to get to know the closest unknown world: their own body.
