NEW INTERACTIVE FAMILY EXHIBIT INSIDE THE BODY
Embark on a journey through your own body
What happens inside your body in a single second? Your heart pumps blood, your lungs supply it with oxygen, your brain processes information, and your immune system assesses potential threats. Yet we are completely unaware of most of this activity taking place within our bodies.
In a space of approximately 480 m², you’ll symbolically shrink to the size of cells and particles and enter a world that’s always with you. However, this is not a traditional anatomy exhibition full of models and technical texts. Through interactive exhibits, digital games, movement activities, and audiovisual installations, you’ll become a direct part of the processes taking place in the human body every second.
The Body as You’ve Never Seen It
Your expedition begins by passing through a striking iris, beyond which both scale and perspective shift. You’ll gradually discover how the senses capture information from the surrounding world, how the brain processes it, and why all parts of the body must constantly work together.
Through your own activity, you’ll get your blood pumping and help oxygenate it. You’ll test your reflexes by hunting down harmful viruses and follow the path of food from the tongue through the stomach to the intestines. You’ll also learn how the body obtains energy, manages water, and eliminates substances it no longer needs. We’ll even discuss processes that aren’t usually talked about much—such as the formation of intestinal gas.
During the expedition, you’ll complete a wide variety of tasks and save your results on a personal chip. In the final exhibit, these results will be compiled into your unique biological profile, revealing just how important the interplay of all parts of the human body is.
You’ll be able to complete some tasks on your own, while others will require the whole family to work together. The “INTO THE BODY” exhibition thus combines learning, movement, fun, and a shared experience. It offers children adventure and space for discovery, adults new insights—and everyone the chance to explore the closest unknown world: their own body.
