The Sound Laboratory is a new interactive family exhibition from DEPO2015 that will immerse you in the world of sound and music creation. It doesn't matter how old you are, whether you master science or can play musical instruments, in this laboratory sounds become an experiment and music a game of your imagination. You will try conducting an orchestra, compose a symphony using light painting, go to a concert of a robot band, find out what kind of light show sound waves can create, have music composed using AI or put on a lab coat and try out small sound experiments at a laboratory table. Zajímá vás program? www.depo2015.cz REST: ART From April to June 2022, together with our Bavarian partner Centrum Bavaria Bohemia, we implemented the REST:ART project, which was supported by the Cíl EUC fund through the Dispositional Fund of the Euroregion Sumava Southwestern Bohemia. The purpose of this cross-border project was to restore former Czech-Bavarian contacts and cooperation, which had been significantly limited in the last two years, and to create new partnerships. During three months, five meetings were held on four topics: April 8, 2022, Pilsen, DEPO2015 The first meeting took place at DEPO2015 and was aimed at representatives of music groups and organizers of smaller/local music festivals. The topics of the three expert lectures were PR of bands and festivals, effective communication of bands with dramaturgs and festival promoters, and an overview of smaller music festivals in the Czech-Bavarian border region. During the evening, contacts were established between bands and music associations and festivals from both sides of the border. The Pilsen band St. Johnny April 28, 2022, Schönsee, Center Bavaria Bohemia The second meeting aimed to connect independent visual artists and curators/managers of galleries or other exhibition spaces. Within three expert lectures, the possibilities of artists to get their artwork into galleries or other (alternative) exhibition spaces were discussed. At the same time, old and new contacts between artists from both sides of the border were renewed. The Pilsen band Vibestones played on the evening program. June 2, 2022, Pilsen, Raven Brewery and DEPO2015 We dedicated two meetings to the topic of small and craft brewing, the first of which was held in Pilsen; the afternoon part in the premises of the small Raven brewery and its tours, the early evening and evening part with lectures took place in DEPO2015. Expert contributions were devoted to the branding of small breweries, working with journalists and organizing cultural events by the brewery. In the evening, the Rokycan band Prázdné lahve played in the Ústředna cafe in DEPO2015. June 12, 2022, Pilsen, embankment on Radbuza The meeting of Bavarian and Czech swing dancers and instructors took place on a hot Sunday in June on the recently opened Plzeň embankment on the Radbuza. During the afternoon, four workshops were held by four lecturers (3 from Bavaria and 1 from the Czech Republic) of swing dances lindy-hop, balboa, shag and boogie-woogie. In the evening part of the program, the Swing Devils musical group played at the swing dance hall at the same place. The interest in this event was very high - over 40 dancers from both countries took part in it. June 23, 2022, Nittenau, Brauerei Jakob The last meeting within the project, and at the same time the second one dedicated to small brewing, was held in Nittenau, Bavaria. The first expert contribution was made by the brewery's brewer Jakob, others took place in the Brauereigasthof on the topics of branding, visuals and trends in this field.

We implement our own projects here, but we also offer space for organizing your events, which we will help arrange in terms of production, technology, and possibly marketing. We offer spaces for a wide range of events - concerts, conferences, trade fairs and other events up to a capacity of 10,000 people. For smaller events, the Foyer café space is available. We also rent offices and art studios on a long-term basis. One of the buildings is currently undergoing renovations, but other parts of the complex are still in operation. Zajímá vás program? www.depo2015.cz BAROQUE REGION OF BOHEMIA BAVARIA The main goal of the Baroque Region of Bohemia Bavaria project is to increase the value and connect the common cultural heritage of the Bavarian and Pilsen regions. Part of the project are the neighboring regions of Upper Franconia, Upper Palatinate, Lower Bavaria on the Bavarian side and West Bohemia with the Pilsen and Karlovy Vary regions on the Czech side, which have great cultural and historical potential with their cultural baroque heritage. The project aims to connect the cross-border aspect of Baroque monuments as a common cultural heritage. The Baroque period in this area is characterized by cultural and historical parallels: trade, history, piety and art, these are the same between 1619 and 1745 in Bohemia and Bavaria. Master builders, architects and artists worked on both sides, and their cross-border works are proof of that. The aim of the project is to revive cross-border cultural exchange, significantly increase cultural and tourist activity, connect monuments and events, interest the young generation, discover hidden baroque treasures and revive the entire era with innovative contributions. The following activities were selected to achieve the desired result: 1. Barock-Info information platform Bilingual information platforms Barock-Info - 50 Baroque monuments of national and approx. 130 monuments of regional significance, which will be published on www.zapadoceskebaroko.cz and www.bbkult.net . 2. Magazine of the Baroque region of Bohemia Bavaria To start the Baroque season, at the beginning of summer in 2018, 2019, 2020, the Magazine of the Baroque Region of Bohemia Bavaria will be published with a cultural overview of Baroque monuments for the given season. 3. Baroque online The most important source of information about the Baroque region of Bohemia and Bavaria are the websites www.zapadoceskebaroko.cz and www.bbkult.net . In addition to the Barock-Info information platform, current contributions to the topic will be regularly published on both sites. 4. Behind the Baroque – interactive exhibition at DEPO2015 and on the road The exhibition Behind the Baroque is an interactive exhibition project for children and youth, which will premiere at the end of 2018 at DEPO2015 in Pilsen. The bilingual exhibition will be conceived in an attractive form, which will allow visitors of all generations to actively participate in the discovery of the Baroque theme. 5. Baroque gems of Bohemia Bavaria - traveling exhibition 100 of the most important Baroque buildings in the subsidy area will be presented at a traveling exhibition called Baroque Treasures of Bohemia Bavaria (approx. 50 on the Bavarian side, approx. 50 on the Czech side of the project area). 6. Baroque cultural events Cultural events in and around Baroque architectural monuments on the Czech and Bavarian sides will bring the Baroque period to life. Baroque ensembles, baroque delights and a baroque accompanying program will attract visitors and cement the baroque period in public awareness during the cultural seasons of 2018, 2019 and 2020. 7. Master music classes The master music courses aim to discover the common cultural heritage of baroque music, connect young music students from both sides of the border with professional lecturers and present the discovered and studied works to the public. 8. Seminars Two weekend seminars for tourist guides and a seminar for young craftsmen on the topic of stucco technique. 9. Interpretation and animation of the baroque heritage A professional symposium will be held in the newly restored premises of the monastery in Teplé, focused on the interpretation and animation of the baroque heritage. The target group is all residents of the project area; starting with children from the 1st school year and ending with the senior group. The implementation of the project takes place from 1 October 2017 to 31 September 2020. The leading partner of the project is Bavaria Bohemia e.V., the project partner is Plzeň 2015, z.ú. and KULTURISTA, an association for culture and tourism. The project is financed from the program Cross-border cooperation Czech Republic – Free State of Bavaria, objective Eús 2014-2020. The DEPO2015 creative and cultural zone in Pilsen is introducing a new access and parking system throughout the complex, effective April 1, 2026 . The main change is a blanket ban on public access, which does not apply to holders of DEPO2015 PARKING CARDS. This measure is intended to ensure available parking spaces primarily for active visitors to the center, the café, and tenants’ clients. The previous free parking policy on the premises is ending. Starting in April, entry and parking will be permitted only to those who work at DEPO2015, use its services, or attend ongoing events. Zajímá vás program? www.depo2015.cz INDUSTRIAL TRAIL The industrial trail following the historical attractions of the former sugar factory or tram depot and the current DEPO2015 area was opened for visitors before the end of last year. However, it is now presented in a new illustrated coat and also with new game elements, which will make it attractive especially for families with children. The format of marked stops is preserved from the original trail, where visitors can use a QR code to play short videos about the given place. The guide in the videos is always a historical figure closely related to the given location. Visitors can thus meet, among others, the engineer Smola, František Křižík, the builder Farkač and many other personalities associated with the industrial heritage of the city of Pilsen. The novelty that the trail brings is a tracking game intended for young and old interested in industrial history. The story begins with a time machine that transports visitors to the past. In order for everyone to return safely to the present, they must go through all the stops, solve the puzzles, find the second time machine and start it. At each stop, the visitor will be asked a question, to answer which he will have to examine the nearby surroundings in detail. "The industrial trail is currently one of the many opportunities to visit DEPO2015. Our goal was therefore to expand it to include activities for small visitors and to make the entire area even more accessible. We want to make visitors raise their heads during the industrial walk, look around, search for architecture and notice details," says DEPO2015 program director Jan Štěpán about the project. 1/5/2023 – no restrictions PRESSLOVA 14, PILSEN DEPO2015 Creative Zone FREE ENTRY MORE ABOUT THE INDUSTRIAL TRAIL A map of the area, which can be taken from the feeder right at the start of the trail, will help visitors find the individual stations with puzzles. The map also serves as a worksheet for writing down answers. If someone is not sure of the solution after all, they don't need to hang their heads, because they can find the right answers in the help. However, these are redeemed by physical activity. If the visitor really performs it, it depends only on his conscience. The one who manages to decipher everything correctly and finds the time machine will be rewarded with the opportunity to start it and thus enjoy a return to the present in the form of a light and sound installation. In addition to the employees of DEPO2015, the creator of escape games, an illustrator and a scenographer participated in the development of the tracking game. "We hope that we managed to prepare a fun, smart and visually interesting walk through the industrial history and actually the present of the DEPO2015 area," adds Štěpán. The entire industrial trail takes place in the outdoor areas of the DEPO2015 complex and is therefore accessible daily, even during government-ordered measures. All you need for this is a map with a pencil that you can take to the start, a smart phone with mobile data to read QR codes if you want to watch videos mapping the history of the area, and then just the courage to go into the past and look for a way back. The program was created during the preparatory years of the Plzeň - European Capital of Culture 2015 project, and during its existence, more than 500 volunteers participated in the organization of cultural, educational and research events through it. In 2015 alone, they devoted more than 6,000 hours of their free time to culture. The program continues to operate and DEPO2015 has become its home stage. From August 17 to 22, 11 selected public locations became both a canvas and a stage for recognized domestic and foreign artists. Right in front of your eyes, traditional writers and subsequent authors who develop street art and graffiti in other directions conjure up their works. Remember how the first year of the successful Street Art Festival WALLZ took place: The face of the WALLZ festival is Michal Škapa aka Tron, one of the most important authors of the Czech graffiti scene. Škapa belongs to the strong generation of "writers" of the 90s, he has dozens of exhibitions and hundreds of art projects to his credit. He became a pioneer of so-called murals (huge street art paintings) in the Czech Republic. Among his most recent projects is KOSMOS at Václav Havel Airport in Prague, which became one of the largest murals in Central Europe. WALLZ will also feature 8 Czech and foreign street art artists - X-Dog, Jakub Janovský, the well-known Brno artist TIMO, Akrobad and Obras from Pilsen, as well as Ruin and Skirl - famous creators from Austria or successful Zbiok from Poland. Colorful street art performances will be complemented by an equally varied accompanying program. You can look forward to a graffiti jam or a street art workshop for children. Various places throughout the territory of Pilsen and with a significant influence on their surroundings were transformed during the second year of the WALLZ festival into large-scale, thanks to leading Czech and foreign street art artists and permanent works of art. In total, ten artists participated in the six-day event at the invitation of the DEPO2015 venue, who painted a total of more than 2,500 m2 of surfaces on houses and walls. For example, the legend of the Czech graffiti scene Jan Kaláb, the first lady of Czech street art Toy Box, artists David Strauzz, Jakub Tytykalo, Ondřej Klíma aka Domino or one of the biggest personalities of contemporary European graffiti from the Urban Spree gallery in Berlin, Johannes Mundinger, came to Pilsen. The public could watch the creation of the works "live" throughout the week. "The main goal of this year is the cultivation of public space. All realizations are in places that need this intervention and the proposed graffiti react to the surrounding environment and work with it. We are trying to show the direction that other property owners and managers can follow. With these implementations, we would like to arouse the interest of the residents of Pilsen in the specific place where they live and help them to start noticing things such as non-functional advertisements for companies that no longer exist, but which are permanently created on buildings and overwhelm their surroundings." White Night was created in Paris in 2002. In 2013, more than two and a half million people visited it. Within a few years, the project spread from Paris to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Montreal, Rome and many others, including Košice and Bratislava. White night offers visitors an unconventional artistic walk through the night city full of experiences and new sensations, which lasts from sunset to sunrise. During one special weekend, night becomes day and the streets of the night city are filled with people and art. The world of signs, symbols and the cipher comes to life in a new interactive light exhibition from the DEPO2015 workshop BLIK x BLIK Character hunters. You will enjoy it to your heart's content and realize that writing is not only a piece of our history, but also a great adventure. Can you negotiate with the Blablator robot? Can you defeat the light gallows, write text in cuneiform or clear the interactive video mapping city of ads? Can you get all the characters and decipher the secret message along the way? The hunt begins! The exposition is suitable for children with at least a basic knowledge of letters. The entire exhibition is barrier-free and suitable for families with prams and wheelchair users. MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT The family exhibition, Hunters of Emblems, is the third interactive exhibition in a row that DEPO2015 creates under the BLIK x BLIK brand.
