Various places throughout the territory of Pilsen and with a significant influence on their surroundings were transformed during the second year of the WALLZ festival into large-scale, thanks to leading Czech and foreign street art artists and permanent works of art. In total, ten artists participated in the six-day event at the invitation of the DEPO2015 venue, who painted a total of more than 2,500 m2 of surfaces on houses and walls. For example, the legend of the Czech graffiti scene Jan Kaláb, the first lady of Czech street art Toy Box, artists David Strauzz, Jakub Tytykalo, Ondřej Klíma aka Domino or one of the biggest personalities of contemporary European graffiti from the Urban Spree gallery in Berlin, Johannes Mundinger, came to Pilsen. The public could watch the creation of the works "live" throughout the week. "The main goal of this year is the cultivation of public space. All realizations are in places that need this intervention and the proposed graffiti react to the surrounding environment and work with it. We are trying to show the direction that other property owners and managers can follow. With these implementations, we would like to arouse the interest of the residents of Pilsen in the specific place where they live and help them to start noticing things such as non-functional advertisements for companies that no longer exist, but which are permanently created on buildings and overwhelm their surroundings." Zajímá vás program? www.depo2015.cz INDUSTRIAL TRAIL The industrial trail following the historical attractions of the former sugar factory or tram depot and the current DEPO2015 area was opened for visitors before the end of last year. However, it is now presented in a new illustrated coat and also with new game elements, which will make it attractive especially for families with children. The format of marked stops is preserved from the original trail, where visitors can use a QR code to play short videos about the given place. The guide in the videos is always a historical figure closely related to the given location. Visitors can thus meet, among others, the engineer Smola, František Křižík, the builder Farkač and many other personalities associated with the industrial heritage of the city of Pilsen. The novelty that the trail brings is a tracking game intended for young and old interested in industrial history. The story begins with a time machine that transports visitors to the past. In order for everyone to return safely to the present, they must go through all the stops, solve the puzzles, find the second time machine and start it. At each stop, the visitor will be asked a question, to answer which he will have to examine the nearby surroundings in detail. "The industrial trail is currently one of the many opportunities to visit DEPO2015. Our goal was therefore to expand it to include activities for small visitors and to make the entire area even more accessible. We want to make visitors raise their heads during the industrial walk, look around, search for architecture and notice details," says DEPO2015 program director Jan Štěpán about the project. 1/5/2023 – no restrictions PRESSLOVA 14, PILSEN DEPO2015 Creative Zone FREE ENTRY MORE ABOUT THE INDUSTRIAL TRAIL A map of the area, which can be taken from the feeder right at the start of the trail, will help visitors find the individual stations with puzzles. The map also serves as a worksheet for writing down answers. If someone is not sure of the solution after all, they don't need to hang their heads, because they can find the right answers in the help. However, these are redeemed by physical activity. If the visitor really performs it, it depends only on his conscience. The one who manages to decipher everything correctly and finds the time machine will be rewarded with the opportunity to start it and thus enjoy a return to the present in the form of a light and sound installation. In addition to the employees of DEPO2015, the creator of escape games, an illustrator and a scenographer participated in the development of the tracking game. "We hope that we managed to prepare a fun, smart and visually interesting walk through the industrial history and actually the present of the DEPO2015 area," adds Štěpán. The entire industrial trail takes place in the outdoor areas of the DEPO2015 complex and is therefore accessible daily, even during government-ordered measures. All you need for this is a map with a pencil that you can take to the start, a smart phone with mobile data to read QR codes if you want to watch videos mapping the history of the area, and then just the courage to go into the past and look for a way back. A total "major" reconstruction, during which the entire DEPO was to be closed for several years, is not planned, the reconstruction is taking place gradually, with partial operation. Based on the experience from the first phase of the reconstruction, we can promise the implementation of most of our activities in 2026, although in a limited operating mode. The investor and contracting authority of the construction is the city of Pilsen. The company Plzeň 2015, z. ú. , which is the operator of the creative and cultural zone DEPO2015 , has only an advisory role in the planning and implementation of the construction. In the first and second phases of the reconstruction in 2024–2025, the roof and windows of the SO 02 building, which houses the Ústředna café, the Plumber's Shop, the Market and all adjacent spaces towards Cukrovarská Street, are being replaced. The construction is being handled from the Cukrovarská Street side, and the second building, the Bus Hall and all other spaces towards Presslova Street, including rental spaces, the new Foyer café, the parking lot and the courtyard, can be used at all times . The reconstruction of the roof covering will be completed by 29 September 2025. The third phase is planned for November 2025 - June 2026 , and will reconstruct part of the interiors in the same building marked SO 02. The bus hall and all other spaces towards Presslova Street, including rental spaces, the new Foyer café, parking and courtyard, will continue to be accessible. We expect the third phase to be completed by June 30, 2026. All long-term rental spaces in Hall SO 02 will be unavailable until the end of June 2026. We will be looking for new tenants during spring 2026. It is currently possible to reserve a date for your events at DEPO2015 in the years 2025–2027 , however, we would like to inform interested parties of a possible change in the situation according to current developments. The schedule for the subsequent reconstruction in 2026–2027 is currently being prepared in connection with the construction development of the surrounding area. The DEPO2015 building is to continue to serve culture and the development of creative industries in the future. New development is planned for the entire area, which will significantly transform this district in the future, see the Cukrovarská territorial study and the Doudlevecká territorial study. BYCZ AiR PROGRAM 2024 is a cooperation project between the municipality of Kolnburg and the company Pilsen 2015 and is part of the INTERREG Bavaria - Czech Republic 2021-2027 program co-financed by the European Union. Artists and creative professionals from Bavaria and the Czech Republic can apply for a two-month residency at the historical monument "Schießl-Haus", located in Kolnburg in the Bavarian Forest, halfway between Munich and Prague. The story of the exhibition refers to Jules Verne's famous novel. At the start of the expedition, visitors will find themselves in the area in front of a huge suitcase. As soon as they enter it, they move in time to the beginning of the 20th century and find themselves in an English men's club. At that moment, the painting of Verne's hero Phileas Fogg, hanging on the wall, comes to life, drawing the player into the story and inviting them to make a bet, just like he once did, to complete a trip around the world in the gallows deadline. Visitors will have the task of passing through nine environments symbolizing different places around the world, from Venice in Italy, through a bazaar in the Middle East, the African savannah, India, to the forest of South America or the frozen landscape of the Arctic. In each of the environments, they have to solve a complicated task in order to get a clue in their passport and be able to continue their journey. Only the most skilled player can go around the entire planet in time, solve all the tasks correctly and get the treasure of Phileas Fogg himself. It works with the principle of scenic rendering of the environment, lighting elements and interactive exhibits linked by an engaging story. The exhibition is primarily intended for children who can already read and is recommended for families with children or groups of 2-8 players, who must go through artistically stylized environments of several countries around the world spread over an area of 450 m2. The DEPO2015 creative team collaborated with local artists on the creative and scenic rendering of the environment. The journey around the world was open in Pilsen from April 6 to August 31, 2024, where it was visited by 11,500 visitors. With this exhibition, DEPO2015 continues the previous successful author's projects Mysterious Forest , Emblem Hunters and Mystery of the Pilsen Metro . The journey around the world and the coat of arms hunters have already had a successful rerun in Bratislava's Bibiana children's museum, and the second mentioned in Prague's Holešovická Market. The exhibition is currently located in the Bibiana international children's art house in Bratislava, where it was transferred from Pilsen in the fall of 2024, and where it will be open until April 20, 2025. The program was created during the preparatory years of the Plzeň - European Capital of Culture 2015 project, and during its existence, more than 500 volunteers participated in the organization of cultural, educational and research events through it. In 2015 alone, they devoted more than 6,000 hours of their free time to culture. The program continues to operate and DEPO2015 has become its home stage. The playground is located at the bottom of the courtyard on the right-hand side. In the upper part of the courtyard, there is the Foyer café, which is open from Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM and offers coffee, soft drinks, desserts, and ice cream. During the summer season, a water sprinkler is also available in the courtyard. Children on the playground are the responsibility of their guardians.

From August 17 to 22, 11 selected public locations became both a canvas and a stage for recognized domestic and foreign artists. Right in front of your eyes, traditional writers and subsequent authors who develop street art and graffiti in other directions conjure up their works. Remember how the first year of the successful Street Art Festival WALLZ took place: The face of the WALLZ festival is Michal Škapa aka Tron, one of the most important authors of the Czech graffiti scene. Škapa belongs to the strong generation of "writers" of the 90s, he has dozens of exhibitions and hundreds of art projects to his credit. He became a pioneer of so-called murals (huge street art paintings) in the Czech Republic. Among his most recent projects is KOSMOS at Václav Havel Airport in Prague, which became one of the largest murals in Central Europe. WALLZ will also feature 8 Czech and foreign street art artists - X-Dog, Jakub Janovský, the well-known Brno artist TIMO, Akrobad and Obras from Pilsen, as well as Ruin and Skirl - famous creators from Austria or successful Zbiok from Poland. The embankment on the Radbuza comes to life again. Floodplain in June In June, a veritable whirlwind of events will cloud the waters on Náplavka. For the whole month, the Picnic Punx pop-up pub will host and make the visitors more pleasant to sit and walk along the river, around which a diverse program will take place.
